1. What skills did you have which helped prepare the materials? What
skills did you lack that made it difficult for you? (Technological Knowledge)
The skills that helped me in preparing the materials:
§ =Making slide show presentation for the lesson
§ =Provide printed hand-out to the students
§ =Use multimedia (Audio, Video, and slide show
presentation in the class)
The skills that I think I am lack with and made it difficult for me
are:
§ =Making SMART lesson plan
§ =Making active or student centered activities
§ =Making of FUN assessment
2. Discuss some strategies on how you will use the materials you
included here in this episode. (Pedagogical Knowledge)
The strategies that I will use in the presentation of the lesson of
this episode are:
§
Making slide show presentation for the lesson –
as already stress-out that the power point presentation stimulate curiosity
among students and a time saving method compare to that of copying notes in the
board.
§
Hand-outs distribution of the students – this would
facilitate individual learning of the students because some of the students are
visual based and auditory learners in which they prepare that their lesson is
within their grasp.
§
Use multimedia – in this, the lesson will be
integrated to audio-visual film; which the students can see an actual
movie-like presentation on the topic.
3. How well do you know the topic you have chosen? (Content
Knowledge) Discuss the big ideas of this
topic that you would want to focus on.
I had chosen the topic based on the Curriculum Guide (CG) which the
Department of Education provide for the teachers not only in the public sectors
but as well the private entity to follow.
In the Curriculum Guide you can see the competency which the students
should master. If you knew the
competency then you can get any of the available resources in your area or in
the internet.
In the topic of globalization; I had emphasize the interconnections of
the people around the globe. The ironic
is that the big idea of the lesson is the small world after all due to the
advent of globalization.
My Reflections/Insights
1. Reflect how your technological knowledge (TK), pedagogical knowledge
(PK) and content knowledge (CK) worked together in fulfilling the task in this
Episode.
As I prepare the lesson, there is already an integration of the technological
knowledge (TK), pedagogical knowledge (PK) and content knowledge (CK). As I had already underscores that my technological
knowledge helps me in making slide show; multimedia integration in the class
and printing hand-out for my students.
Pedagogical knowledge helps me in delivering the lesson via classroom
demonstration with the use of multimedia equipments and assessing the students
learning in the allotted time based on the lesson plan. My content knowledge on the other hand is
based primarily on the Curriculum Guide (CG) which served as my guiding map in
assessing my teaching and the mastery of my students based on the allotted days
of the given competency.
2. What are some of the things you can do to enhance and enrich your
technological, pedagogical content knowledge (TPACK) to be able to facilitate an
active, interesting, learning and fun-filled learning environment in the
future?
The following things or ideas can enhance and enrich my technological,
pedagogical and content knowledge in facilitating an active, interesting and holistic
and fun learning environment in the future:
§ =Actual integration of internet in the lesson so
that the students will use the net in their activities and quiz
§ =Online class with the use of Facebook, Twetter,
and blog sites.
§ =Actual video streaming in Youtube for
audio-visual presentations
